Super Spag Bol

A family favourite and a well-balanced meal full of different herbs and spices to get your little one experimenting with different flavours.

At mealtimes aim for a protein rich food (beef or the plant-based option here), a carbohydrate to provide energy (spaghetti), healthy fats (such as olive or rapeseed oil used in cooking) as well as veggies for micronutrients.

Super Spag Bol Recipe

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp preferred oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 white onion (peeled & diced finely)
  • 1 large carrot (grated)
  • 2 sticks of celery (peel first layer & grate)
  • 4 mushrooms (diced finely)
  • 500g minced beef or plant-based alternative (e.g soya mince)
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 200g tin tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Little Supper Club Spag Bol Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp preferred oil
  • 1 tsp salt (optional 12+)

Instructions

  • Add oil to a large pot/pan on a high heat and add minced beef. Cook for 3-4 mins or until cooked through.
  • Turn heat down to medium and add onions, garlic, carrots, celery & mushrooms. Stir for 1-2 mins.
  • Add tomato puree, tin tomatoes and Little Supper Club Super Spag Bol Seasoning, stir well. If using, add salt.
  • Lower heat, lid on & simmer for 20-25 mins. Stir occasionally.
  • If your baby has just started weaning, pulse for 10-20 secs with a hand blender or to preferred texture. Serve with spaghetti!
